How exciting to be a finalist again for the Wellington Regional Arts Review! Something a little different than what many of you will be used to. This very personal piece is the beginning of a project I am working on, which is an exhibition that explores domestic violence affecting children in New Zealand. It will be a long and slow project that I will work on as I can. I have always painted figurative works like this, but they are not normally for the public eye.
This year I am also stepping back into painting more portraits and figurative works, themed around women's stories, so keep an eye out for new works as they appear.
